Hello People! So I should be telling you all about our boutique or the cafe, but I can’t focus on writing about that right now, because I just got the CUTEST pair of shoes. I mean it is Mother’s Day month, so why not?
I am now the proud owner of the Soho with white fringe.
Let’s Talk Sneakers:
First, let’s talk sneakers. You can’t say the word sneakers right now without addressing Golden Goose, the brand with the Midas touch in tennis shoes for the last couple years and still going strong. Big fan of the look, I haven’t been as fortunate with the fit. I have the Francy, the Old School with Velcro and the Mid Star. I have to say, at risk of never being asked to be a GG brand ambassador, that they just don’t work for me. I wear them, yes, but are they super comfy? NO, or at least not for me. I think it’s the raised heel bed, it slides my toesies into the front of the shoe and hurts. I’ve tried going no socks and that’s better, but scratchy on top of my foot, next I am going to try socks with rubber on the bottom to see if that prevents my toe collision issue. They say the raised heel bed is the trick to elongating the leg and why they are so easy to dress up or down. I can see how that concept works, however, for now, they are my light shopping and ladies lunching shoes.
Soho with White Fringe
On that same vein of fashion sneakers, coming in at a little lower price point are the P448’s. I wonder if they are pronounced P four four eight or P four hundred forty eight or something odd like P forty four eight, I’m not sure, but they are far superior on my foot for comfort. I have a low top, a high top and to get back to the shoes I treated myself to today…I am now the proud owner of the Soho with white fringe. Check out the pictures…they are adorable, and the fringe just takes them up a whole new level AND they are comfortable!!! I wouldn’t wear them on a hike or probably want to wear them over 15,000 steps on purpose, only because they are harder soled shoes, not squishy like On’s or Hokas, but you could wear them power shopping, a long day running errands, to a Bucs game, on a day at the airport traveling, hit the Tampa Riverwalk…and do it right out of the box. They will not require any break in time.
I would be remiss not to mention a new (to me) sneaker brand from Italy called Premiata. It appears the brand has been around since 1885, made in Italy, like GG and P448’s. From the best I can tell they started their athletic shoe line, for men at least, in 2015. We were introduced to this brand in a men’s boutique in Avignon, France in the spring of this year. Of course, having a logo that looks like a cross, makes them attractive to both wear and consider importing to the US for Worship EveryWear. You can see my husband sporting the pair he picked up, but they have lots of styles and colors to include nylon and leather and suede versions.
So there you have it, my thoughts on some of the popular fashion sneaker trends, continuing in 2023. Happy Mother’s Day to me and my new shoesies. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you as well. May you feel all the love God intended you to have when he blessed and entrusted you to raise his little ones and remember on the hard days, he gave you the child/children he knew you could raise and he never calls you to a task without equipping you for success. You got this.
